It seems like everyday is an adventure here at BidFire!

We launched BidFire 2.0 back in May, and have since been testing and tweaking round-the-clock and, thanks to the dedication of our engineering team, we’ve been able to address a few software issues in order to improve our patented Campfire® Auction Platform.

Some of you have noticed a few of the subtle changes we’ve made over the past few weeks, the most exciting of which being a schedule featuring more frequent auctions!  That’s right!  At BidFire, we’ve been fine-tuning our technology in order to bring you even more opportunities to win.  

Another way we’ve decided to increase your chances of winning is by no longer counting BidPacks towards Win Limits.  That means that you are able to win as many BidPacks as you can, without those wins preventing you from participating in auctions for other products.  However, there is still the limit of three wins per seven days on those other, non-BidPack auctions.

Summer has been heating up and so have our products!  Since the debut of Wishlist Wednesday two weeks ago, we’ve premiered a whole host of new items previously unavailable on our site.  All because you suggested them!  Hearing from our users helps us continue to bring you the best possible competitive shopping experience.  You can email us anytime with your suggestions at wishlist@bidfire.com, or you can contact us through our Facebook Page.  For technical support, please visit help.bidfire.com.

Wishlist Wednesday is in full effect here at BidFire For the second week in a row, we have polled our fans on Facebook and asked for product suggestions.  We’ve chosen three new products each week, and awareded 5 Free Bids to each of those users with winning suggestions.  It’s been so cool to review all the different choices, and to grant the wishes of three lucky users each week.

This week we are featuring a Shark Navigator Upright Bagless Vacuum cleaner at 6 PM.  This vacuum is both lightweight and heavy duty.  Powered by Infinity Technology, the Shark Navigator traps dust and dirt, never losing suction.  It is known for cleaning the last room as well as the first.

On Wednesday, July 14, we ran a promotion on our Facebook Page asking all of our friends to submit a recipe they have made with their Kitchenaid Stand Mixer.  We decided that we would choose the yummiest sounding treat, reward that user with 5 Free Bids, and post the winning recipe here.

The winning recipe comes from Janelle, who shared with us her 7-UP Pound Cake.

7-UP Pound Cake

Ingredients
2 sticks of butter (or margarine)
8 tablespoons of shortening
3 cups of sugar
5 eggs
1 teaspoon of vanilla or lemon extract (I like to use both!)
3 cups of flour
7 ounces of 7-Up or other Lemon-Lime soda

Preheat oven to 130 degrees. Mix butter and shortening together until creamy.  Add in eggs one at a time.  After the eggs are mixed in well, pour in the extract.  Then pour in flour and 7-UP alternatively.  Continuing mixing until creamy.  Pour mixture into cake pan (Angel Food cake pan or bundt cake pan both work well in this case) and bake for an hour and fifteen to an hour and 30 minutes.  Once done pull it out to cool, then flip over and enjoy.

This sounds like a delicious cake, perhaps best accompanied by a decadent flavor of ice cream, and eaten in the evening underneath the summer sky.  We look forward to trying out this recipe for ourselves.  We’ll be sure to let you know how it comes out.  Thanks again, Janelle!

Yet again, BidFire is shaking things up by auctioning off a Felt S32 2101 TT/Triathlon Bike!

We love innovation!  Felt Bicycles are the creation of one Jim Felt, a former motocross mechanic who, in 1989, built a one-off Time Trial/ Triathlon frame as a favor to one of his star motocross racers.  Johnny “The O-Show” O’Mara raced in triathlons as a way to stay fit for motocross.  In 1990 O’Mara won the California State Time Trial upon that one-off Felt frame and it wasn’t long before Easton Sports contacted Jim Felt and racing bikes would forever be changed.  You can learn even more about the company here.

There has been as lot of work going on behind the scenes at BidFire in preparation for the launch of our new and improved site. Before we get to what's new, we want to first send a big THANK YOU to everyone who has been actively bidding, winning, and providing feedback on BidFire 1.0. We've used your input to help us create the most exciting and rewarding competitive shopping experience possible.

At BidFire, we are passionate about community, and we have developed the most engaging on-line auction platform available.
