BidFire

Privacy policy

Last updated: September 15, 2026

BidFire is operated as bidfire.com in Malta. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you read the site or contact us. For privacy questions or requests, email admin@bidfire.com.

When you read BidFire

You can read our guides without an account. We do not run a newsletter signup, reader comments, checkout, or contact form. We do not use advertising pixels, analytics scripts, or tools that record your visits for marketing. We do not sell personal information.

Our hosting and delivery services receive technical data needed to send pages to your browser and protect the site. This can include your IP address, the page requested, request time, browser details, and the referring page when your browser sends it.

Cloudflare hosts and delivers BidFire and helps protect it from abuse. Its services may process request data and security logs. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for how it handles that data.

Our pages load AMP software from Google's delivery network. Your browser contacts that network to load the files. Google receives request details such as an IP address and browser information. A search service may also serve a cached copy of a page. See Google's privacy policy for its data handling.

Cookies and browser storage

BidFire does not set advertising or analytics cookies. Cloudflare may use necessary security cookies if a protective check is triggered. These support site security rather than advertising. Your browser also caches page files to help them load.

You can manage cookies through your browser. Blocking files or security cookies may affect how a page or protection check works. We will update this policy before adding optional tracking and seek consent where required.

When you email us

If you send a message, we receive your email address, name if supplied, message, and any files you choose to attach. Our email service providers process that information to deliver and store the message.

We use it to answer your question, handle a correction or privacy request, and keep a record where needed. Please share only information relevant to your request. Do not send passwords, payment details, or sensitive personal records.

Why we use information

We use limited request data to deliver and secure the site. We use contact details and messages to respond to readers. Where the GDPR applies, our basis is our legitimate interest in running a safe website and handling correspondence. We may also process information to meet a legal duty or deal with a legal claim.

We do not use reader data to make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects through automated processing. We do not build advertising profiles of readers.

Sharing, storage, and international processing

Hosting, security, and email providers receive the information needed for their services. We may disclose information when legally required or when needed to address abuse or a legal claim.

These providers may process information outside Malta and the European Economic Area. Where applicable, transfers rely on safeguards under data protection law, such as approved contract clauses or an adequacy decision. The provider policies linked above explain their international data handling. Contact us for more information about a transfer relevant to your request.

We keep correspondence for as long as needed to handle the matter and meet any legal or security need. We assess retention based on the message, follow-up needs, and applicable duties. Hosting and delivery logs follow the provider's service settings and retention rules. There is no single retention period for every record.

Links, purchases, and possible commissions

Our guides link to shops, brands, and other websites. Their own privacy policies apply once you visit them. Purchases take place on those sites. BidFire does not receive your payment details or process your order.

Our current product links do not use affiliate tracking. If we join an affiliate program later, we may earn a commission from qualifying purchases through marked links. We will disclose that relationship where relevant and update this policy to reflect any related data handling.

Editorial assistance and the Alex Mercer byline

Alex Mercer is a fictional editorial persona used as BidFire's byline and webmaster identity. The portrait is generated artwork. The name and image do not represent a real product tester or professional credential.

Our content uses AI assistance for research, writing, and illustrations. Recommendations express editorial judgments based on available information. They are not claims that the persona bought or tested the products. Illustrations are labeled and should not be treated as authentic product photographs.

Your privacy rights

Where data protection law applies, you may ask to access or correct your personal data. You may also have rights to deletion, restricted use, portability, and objection to processing based on legitimate interests. These rights have conditions and exceptions.

Send requests to admin@bidfire.com. We may need enough information to confirm that a request concerns your data. We will explain if a legal reason limits what we can do.

You may complain to Malta's Information and Data Protection Commissioner or another authority available to you under applicable law.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our data handling changes. The date above shows the latest revision. Contact admin@bidfire.com if you have a question about this policy.
